Frequently asked questions

AAC vs MP3 — which segment format should I pick?

AAC (.aac) is the modern default — smaller files at the same quality. MP3 (.mp3) maximizes legacy player compatibility.

Is multi-bitrate output supported?

Currently single rendition. Multi-bitrate audio HLS is rare in practice; let us know if you need it.

How long can my audio be?

Output files are kept in browser memory until packaging. 2-hour podcasts are typically fine; multi-hour audiobooks may need a chunked workflow.

Are chapter markers preserved?

ID3v2 chapter markers are not currently preserved.

Is the output DRM-protected?

No. Output is plain HLS audio.

Which browsers are supported?

Chrome 105+, Edge 105+, Safari 16.4+, Firefox 130+. WebCodecs is required.
