What's the spacing between frames?

Frames are evenly spaced — at i = 0..N-1, timestamp = duration × (i + 0.5) / N.

Why not GIF or animated WebP?

PNG keeps each frame lossless. For an animated GIF or WebP, see our HLS → GIF / WebP tools (coming soon).

Why does m3u8 fail to load?

Most often CORS. Try the upload tab.

Can I pick custom timestamps?

The current page extracts at evenly-spaced positions. Custom timestamp picker is on the roadmap.

What's the max thumbnail width?

We cap at 2048 px. Larger sources are downscaled for faster encode and smaller zip size.

Which browsers are supported?

Chrome 105+, Edge 105+, Safari 16.4+, Firefox 130+. WebCodecs is required.
