We use Mediabunny's default LAME encoder settings (medium VBR). Output is broadly compatible with any player.

Frequently asked questions
Will this work for live HLS?
VOD playlists are recommended. Live streams will work but may stop unexpectedly when the playlist rolls.
Why is the m3u8 not loading?
Most likely CORS. Browsers block cross-origin fetches without CORS headers. Use the upload tab as a workaround.
Are multiple audio tracks supported?
We extract the primary audio track. Multi-language tracks would need our HLS Multi-Audio Extractor (coming soon).
Does it preserve metadata / chapters?
Basic format conversion — ID3v2 chapter markers are not currently preserved.
Which browsers are supported?
Chrome 105+, Edge 105+, Safari 16.4+, Firefox 130+. WebCodecs is required.
